I can’t believe that this is even a topic that is up for discussion. The nation is still so divided over abortion as a topic, when an abortion, IN THE WOMB, should take place, and now California has a bill up for consideration that would allow a mother to just let her babies die?
The bill referenced is Assembly Bill 2223
And we will refer to the expert article here in a moment, however, as appalling as this topic is, we have to ask ourselves, who is coming up with this, and why are they in any type of elected position?
First, this is being pushed by pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and ACLU.
It is sponsored by Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks, D- Oakland.
The 6-week timeline to allow a baby to die is on the way upper side of the limit, however, the bill would fully lock in a 28 day period.
They are negotiating the time period between 28 days and 6 weeks to allow a baby to die and not have any legal recourse.
“The bill would prohibit authorities from charging a mother for “actions or omissions” related to her pregnancy, “including miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion, or perinatal death.” Anyone who “aids or assists a pregnant person” also would be exempt from prosecution. Additionally, the bill would allow the woman to sue police and other authorities who arrest or charge her in such cases.”
While this bill would hopefully never pass in the California State Congress, we must acknowledge that these ideas are being presented by people who are in the office of some sort, and we must remember who they are and seek to replace them.
If there is one thing we have recently learned, a small idea, supported by a few, can catch fire and swarm quickly. This ember needs to be extinguished before it takes up too much oxygen.
